DGVS Signs MoU with Mizoram SRLM under DDU-GKY 2.0 to Open New Opportunities for Rural Youth

Dehati Gramothan Vikas Samiti (DGVS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mizoram State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MzSRLM/SSDM) to implement DDU-GKY 2.0, the Government of India’s skill development scheme. Under this partnership, DGVS will train rural youth in Mizoram, help them gain job-ready skills, and connect them with better employment opportunities.

What Is DDU-GKY 2.0?

DDU-GKY 2.0 is the latest phase of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana, a flagship skill development programme of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. You can read more about the scheme on the official DDU-GKY website.

The aim of DDU-GKY 2.0 is simple. It gives quality skill training to young people from rural areas and then helps them find steady work. The scheme believes that when a young person learns a skill that industry needs, that person can earn a better income and support the whole family.

Why the DGVS and Mizoram SRLM MoU Matters

This MoU is an important milestone for DGVS. It marks the start of a joint effort between DGVS and Mizoram SRLM to bring DDU-GKY 2.0 to more rural youth in the state.

Mizoram SRLM already has a strong reach in villages and local communities. DGVS brings years of experience in skill development and community-based work. When these two strengths come together, DDU-GKY 2.0 can reach the right young people and give them the right training.

How DGVS Will Support DDU-GKY 2.0 in Mizoram

Under the MoU, DGVS will work closely with Mizoram SRLM to run training programmes that match what employers look for. The focus will be on:

  • Industry-relevant skills: Training that matches real job needs in different sectors.
  • Professional training: Courses that prepare young people for work, not just for exams.
  • Employment support: Guidance that helps trained youth move into meaningful careers.
  • Strong local presence: Reaching young people in rural areas who often miss such opportunities.

Through DDU-GKY 2.0, DGVS wants to help build a skilled, employable, and self-reliant workforce in Mizoram.

Benefits of DDU-GKY 2.0 for Rural Youth

Many young people in villages have talent and energy but lack access to good training. DDU-GKY 2.0 helps change that. Here is how rural youth can gain from the scheme:

  • They learn practical skills that are in demand.
  • They become more confident and ready for the job market.
  • They get a chance to earn a steady income close to a better future.
  • They can support their families and strengthen their villages.
  • They find new paths toward self-reliance and economic growth.

When one young person finds a good job, the benefit spreads to the whole household. That is why DDU-GKY 2.0 is seen as a scheme for the whole community, not just for individuals.

A Shared Vision for Better Livelihoods

The partnership shows a shared commitment to improve livelihoods, promote economic empowerment, and expand job prospects for rural communities. By combining the grassroots reach of Mizoram SRLM with the experience of DGVS in skill development, the initiative aims to create a lasting social and economic impact across the region.

It also supports the larger vision of the Government of India, which is to create sustainable livelihood opportunities through skill development and workforce empowerment. DDU-GKY 2.0 is one of the key tools to make that vision real at the village level.

What DGVS Said on the Occasion

Representatives of DGVS thanked everyone for the chance to be part of youth empowerment and nation-building. They said the organisation will stay committed to:

  • Delivering high-quality training under DDU-GKY 2.0
  • Improving the employability of young people
  • Supporting the dreams and ambitions of rural youth

DGVS also said that this MoU strengthens its bond with Mizoram SRLM and adds new energy to the shared goal of building stronger rural communities.

What Comes Next for DDU-GKY 2.0 in Mizoram

DGVS looks forward to implementing the programme successfully. The team hopes that DDU-GKY 2.0 will open new doors of growth, self-reliance, and economic progress for young people in Mizoram.

In the coming months, the focus will be on starting training, reaching eligible youth, and helping them move toward jobs. Each trained and placed youth will be a step toward a stronger and more confident rural Mizoram.

Conclusion: A Step Toward Brighter Futures

The signing of this MoU is more than a formal agreement. It is a promise to rural youth that they will get the skills, support, and opportunities they deserve. With DDU-GKY 2.0, DGVS and Mizoram SRLM are working together to help young people build brighter futures through knowledge, skills, and employment-oriented training.

DGVS thanks Mizoram SRLM and all partners for their trust, and remains committed to empowering rural youth across the country.
